Hawley House and Rubicon Estate accommodation and wedding venue near Devonport has been the cherished family home of the Houghton familyt since 1948. The property was opened to visitors in 1988 and is still run by the members of the family..
The other characters in Hawley's menagerie includes four dogs - Zorro, Griffin, Shadow and Juniper, pet ferrets Rebel and Rufus, Ratty the cat along with peacocks, turkeys, many wild ducks, native hens.
The horses are Phantom, Trojan, Juno and Persia.
